This Lockmaster Bifold multipoint door lock features 2 Hooks, 1 Deadbolt, 1 Latch & 2 Anti Lift Bolts.
This Yale Lockmaster multipoint door lock is commonly fitted to aluminium bifold doors manufactured by Aluk and Smarts. The lock features a pair of hooks with anti lift pins and a 28mm backset to suit the slim profile of aluminium bifold doors.
Locks will normally be stamped with the Yale logo, although you should also look out for the Lockmaster logo too.
There are two versions of this lock, available, a standard and long version. The standard lock features the top hook 584mm from the top spindle (part number LM2H2824URSTD). Part LM2H2824URLONG is the extended version and features the top hook 720mm from the top spindle.
This lock is available in 28mm backset only and features a distinctive24mm x 7mm U shaped or channel faceplate to fit aluminium profiles.
Yale Lockmaster bifold gearboxes are unique in the Lockmaster range as they have a 28mm backset. Normal Lockmaster gearboxes are 35mm and 45mm (achieved by adding extension pieces to the 35mm gearbox). This gearbox stands alone and is different in appearance and shape to the normal Lockmaster gearbox.
Measuring 202mm high by 45mm wide, these gearboxes are much smaller than regular lockmaster gearboxes. They also feature bolt hole piercing and groove for handle fitment.
Gearboxes are attached to faceplates with 3 screws and cannot be interchanged with other lockmaster locks.
These Yale Lockmaster bifold gearboxes are made from galvanised mild steel with a cast, zinc alloy deadbolt and latch.
When measuring the backset, allow 2-3mm for the faceplate, so a 28mm backset gearbox will measure 25mm when not fixed to the strip.
Yale Lockmaster bifold multipoint locks feature hooks and anti lift pins. Anti lift pins provide additional protection against attack and also require special keeps because of the proximity of the pin and the hook bolt.
The case on a Yale Lockmaster hook is normally 154mm high by 43mm deep. The height measurement is taken across the whole hook case, including the connect. The height of the top of the hook case is 135mm.
