Rim mounted sash and dead locks are often used on solid doors and gates to provide convenient security without the need to mortice out an aperture from the door material. Fixed directly to the surface, on the inside of the door, these locks are a popular option particularly in Victorian style domestic properties, for use on gates and internal doors.
The Union 1139 Is a large case Rim Deadlock available in both 4 Inch and 6 Inch case sizes. With a 3 lever mechanism and a backset of either 51mm or 76mm, these rim deadlocks have a bolt throw of 15mm and can be operated from either side of the door. The lock comes in a durable black finish with Brass appointments and is supplied with 2 extended keys and a staple.
