Product Information
Nightlatches are a common locking product found mainly on residential front doors. They ordinarily feature a single sprung latch locking point which engages automatically when the door is shut, securing the property.
The Union 1098 Auto Deadlocking nightlatch features a classic design which compliments both traditional and modern properties. The clean functional appearance blends in to most door sets and the option of polished finishes make it a great choice for matching with other chrome or brass hardware. Feature wise this nightlatch offers both auto deadlocking, to help protect the latch bolt from manipulation, and an internal cylinder to allow for key deadlocking from inside the property.
The anti-thrust snib present on this nightlatch, offers protection from 'latch slipping'. The snib is automatically depressed by the strike plate. When in the depressed position, internal components within the nightlatch physically prevent the main latch from being withdrawn into the lock case. This ensures the latch cannot be manipulated back into the lock case whilst the door is in the closed position.
This is a deadlocking nightlatch and offers the ability to use the key from the outside to deadlock the door once shut. When deadlocked, the internal handle will not operate. This offers additional security from intruders who may attempt to manipulate the inside handle via the letterbox, or through open or broken windows.
Supplied boxed, with a Union branded rim cylinder complete with 3 keys, and a solid box keep.
