This Fullex XL multipoint door lock features 4 Rollers 1 Hook & 1 Latch.
This Fullex XL features a Hook and 4 Rollers
The XL was designed from the outset to offer maximum security and reliability. All XL locks feature three hooks, two steel anti lift pins and the option of either two or four roller cams for compression and smooth operation.
XL multipoint door locks are available in a double, single or split spindle gearbox, allowing them to be used as a lift lever lock, double spindle nightlatch or split spindle nightlatch, depending on the model you choose. The door prep will be the same for all locks (although the double spinlde will require different handles), so the locks can be interchanged.
Identifying an XL lock is relatively easy. The faceplate is stamped with the Fullex logo and, once the lock is removed from the door, you'll recognise that the top corner of the gearbox is cut out, a feature that characterises the XL lock.
The XL range features a number of different locks with hooks, anti lift pins and rollers, each in a differnet location relative to the spindle. Please check your measurements against our product specifciation to ensure that you have the correct lock.
Every XL lock is extendable top and bottom for maximum flexibility and when combined with Fullex high security shoot bolts, the XL door system is fully capable of meeting PAS24 requirements.
Fullex XL gearboxes are available in 35mm and 45mm backsets in single, double and split spindle configurations but their dimensions are all the same. They measure 227mm high by the backset + 15mm. These gearboxes attach to their strips with three equidistant screws. The middle screw is 108mm from the top, which is also 108mm from the bottom screw.
These gearboxes all feature a hook which throws upwards. The hook is manufactured from Dacromet coated A3 sintered steel and is approximately 23mm high.
XL gearboxes also feature a snib on the faceplate that can be used to hold back the latch.
Fullex XL hooks are made from chrome plated A3 hardened cast steel. Each hook is accompanied by a anti lift pin bolt, manufacture red from the same material.
On XL locks, the top hook throws downwards, with the anti lift pin situated above it. The bottom hook throws upwards with the anti lift pin situated below it.
Rollers are used for compression, to pull the door against the frame, to help prevent dust or water ingress. They do little for security, but they also have the added benefit of helping to prevent the door from becoming warped as it is supported across its full height. This is dependent on the rollers being engaged into their keeps.
Rollers are normally adjustable by +/- 1mm to help achieve optimum weather sealing.
