Here we look at 3 simple steps to cylinder key cutting:
- Email a photograph of your key to info@lockshopdirect.co.uk. We’ll take a look at it and identify a suitable key cylinder replacement. We will inform you which pricing band it belongs to (e.g. A, B or C) as well.
- Click on the required cylinder key, select the correct band from the list and add it to your basket. You can then proceed to the checkout.
Please note that if you order a key cylinder replacement from the wrong band it won’t be processed but you may still be charged for delivery.
- Once your order has been received, we will send a confirmation email which will include your order number, starting with ‘Web-xxx’. Make sure you keep your order number safe as you will need this when you send the key you want cutting to:

How much does it cost to get a cylinder key cut?
Often, the price of key cutting depends on the type of key, the locksmith and how long it takes to cut the key.
The great thing about cylinder keys is that they are the second cheapest to get copied, after window keys.
Typically, they take no more than 5 minutes to cut and we strive to provide replacement keys at a highly competitive rate. Prices start from just £4.98 and range up to £8.76 – depending on the required price band.
Delivery of key cylinders
It takes 1-3 days for replacement cylinder keys to arrive.
At LockShop Direct, we make sure that all cylinder keys are posted via recorded delivery to provide you with complete peace of mind. We’ll send the replacement to a different address to where the lock is located – usually the address of a friend, family member or workplace – preventing the risk of it ending up in the wrong hands.
