The auto deadlocking type becomes deadlocked when the door shuts and are a favourite choice.
In most cases, insurance companies require you to fit your door with a BS3621 British standard lock. These locks have been designed and undergone satisfactory tests to guarantee their ability to meet minimum security standards outlined in the British standard 3621.They have been approved to offer high security to any doors in your property
BS3621 Rim Locks.
Rim locks are essentially locks that are surface mounted, and therefore they do not have to be mortised into the door. They sit on the inside and interact with an external key-way which permits for unlocking using a key from the outside.
The main benefit of this lock is its ability to let you simply close the door without worrying on how you can lock it yourself. They are very convenient for use, and this makes them very popular. You only need to unlock when you enter the property and worry not about the locking.
Types
Auto deadlocking.
Auto deadlocking types ensure that the doors are automatically deadlocked as the door closes. As the door shuts, a trigger is initiated on the anti-thrust bolt and thereby deadlocking the door to ensure that the latch bolt is not slipped using a plastic card. This ensures that high security is facilitated.
Deadlocking
Deadlocking types have a button within the door lock to be used for deadlocking and thus making it unlikely to open the door from the outside, regardless of whether you have a key or not. When the snib button is slid, the latch is held in a withdrawn mode.
Standard.
The standard type is highly recommended by the police and insurance companies. It provides maximum level security. Featuring a TS007 1 rim cylinder and a cylinder guard, an internal lockable handle, a 20 mm bolt to provide more strength and anti- bump, anti-drill, anti-carding, and anti-pick protection.
Drawback.
Properly fitted to the door, it can be locking, and unlocking can be done from the outside and inside using a key. Withdrawal mode can be effected by pulling the handle from the inside. Turing the pull handle makes the latch bolt to be in a withdrawn mode.
